The Bible is God’s Diary
If we didn’t know our earthly dad, let’s say, but we found his diary one day, we would so want to read it to find out what kind of guy he is. This is much like our heavenly Father. He left the Bible (The Word) for us as His diary.
To discover God’s likes His dislikes, what gives Him joy, what breaks His heart. What His preferences are. My earthly father loved a good cup of tea with the right amount of milk and a generous portion of honey. Our heavenly Father has preferences too.
I went through my mom’s filing cabinet after she passed, she had a lot of inspiration pieces from her art in there. I was fascinating to see what she found beautiful, interesting, quirky, whimsical. It was bittersweet but heartfelt and delightful really to experience her in this way. To see a sides of her that she didn’t necessarily openly express to me specifically over the years.
We find out through the Bible what makes Him tick, where we came from, the lessons to help make our earthly and subsequently eternal life better should we believe and follow in Him the Holy Spirit and his son Jesus whom made the way possible for us to connect with His in this manner.
